I Want To Get Involved!
If you're reading this you've obviously come to our LJ looking for more information about the Out Of Madness compilation CD. So what's this I hear you cry. A charity compilation to be released in time for xmas. Original huh? Hear me out though. Each band that submits a track to the compilation (preferably free of charge and unreleased material) will have their details and a sample of their contribution placed onto a website. People can then come along to the website, pre order the compilation and actually vote for what songs end up on the CD(s). If there are enough tracks submitted it would be nice to have one CD of bleeps and one guitar based to have music for everyone. The money from all the pre orders will be used to press the CDs; each person recieves their copy and the rest are sold through various channels with all profits going to a Cancer research charity. Anyone that pre orderd the CD will also be able to download all the remaining tracks that didn't make it onto the compilation as an additional bonus. Bob has had a quote through from one CD pressing company for £900 for 1000 double CDs. At £10 for the compilation you're looking at raking in £8050 for charity if all of them sell. This is where you lot come in. If we can get a few well known bands from the international scene to submit tracks to the compilation we stand a better chance of getting this project off the ground. Any help anyone can offer us in this would be gratefully accepted :) If you want to get involved, just leave us a comment on this post (or any other, it doesn't really matter!) |

Fare thee well...
It is with great regret, a large dose of sadness and a tear in the eye that we are going to have to announce the closure of the Out Of Madness project. The website has been up and open to subscription for the last three or four months now (I forget how long as we've been working on it for at least seven months). In that time we've failed to get anywhere near the minimum number of pre-orders needed to pay for pressing of the actual CDs, let alone actually have anything left over to give to Clic Sargent. We have decided to stop the project now rather than carry on and have to do this, but with a few more people to apologise to. We would like to thank all the bands* and labels that have kindly granted us permission to use their material; plus a big thanks to SKM Industries for the wonderful CD cover designs as well. The website will remain up for now. Those of you that did sign up for the CD, you have two options open to you. Either we will give you a full refund of your £10 or we can supply you with each and every track that was donated to us and still pass the money over to Clic Sargent. If you could please let Bob (bob@lineoutrecords.com) know your preference... Personally I'd go for the tracks. You get a lot of quality stuff for your money! If any of the bands would like copies of all the tracks please contact Bob as well. * The bands we would like to thank are : Action Directe; Audio War; Bla Bla Bla; Blank, BlankInfinity; Emoshun; Exmaark; Freudstein; History of Guns; Interstellar Rhythm Machine; Jack Psychosis; K-Nitrate; O.V.N.I; Rename; Scarlet Soho; SD6; SMP; The Barbarellatones; The Sepia; Tracer; Trauma Pet; Traumengel; Unk!; The Vultures and XP8. Once again, our sincere apologies and massive thanks for all your support over the last few months. So long and thanks for the fish Paul & Bob Current Mood: sad |

Track changes
We've got another addition to the lineup, this time from History of Guns entitled Fall Down. Sadly one of the Rename tracks had to be withdrawn as the wrong file had been sent ;) We should have a replacement version in the next couple of days. |

Two more bands added
Today we've got another 4 tracks for you to listen to up on the site. Blank have kindly donated an exclusive remix of Mutant Engine by fellow Italians, XP8 "Their music is for the dancefloor and for the heart, combining thought-provoking lyrics with an overdose of energy to create new, fresh, and exciting dance music." And A Different Drum helped put us in contact with synthpop band Rename, who have given us three unreleased mixes. "Rename is a melodic synthpop band from Germany that builds on the strong traditions of fellow countrymen Boytronic or Hubert Kah, mixed in with a touch of the Pet Shop Boys and a flare of their own." |

Charity CD Submission's guide
Weeks ago I emailed out the submission guide for the Out of Madness compilaiton. It turns out that it's been appearing as spam and being filtered out of a lot of people's inboxes. So... for all those of you that never recieved my email and still want to contribute to the Out Of Madness charity CD project you can find the submission guide on our website, or by following this link : http://www.outofmadness.org.uk/Submission.pdf |

Things have been a little quiet here recently as we're basically waiting on one final piece of documentation to fall into place. Bah! On the plus side, we're still recieivng interest from more bands. The latest one to join the ranks is Audio War*, possibly with other additions form the MOMT lineup thanks to Ian and Bart * Audio War is the brainchild of Graham Rayner, songwriter for Cubanate and several tracks on the Gran Turismo soundtrack and K-Nitrate programmer Christian Weber. |

Another band has been added to the roster. The Sepia have sent through an unreleased mix of their track Stutter. We're slowly getting there with regards to paperwork and website design. Slowly slowly. Still waiting for the charity to send through their contract though. |

Updates
The Charity we want to donate all the money to is sending us the forms to fill in for tax/legal purposes; sadly unless we can say we will definately give them £5000 as a minimum donation we aren't legally allowed to say who anywhere until afterwards :( Let's just say that it's a big uk based Cancer charity and leave it at that shall we? The website is being designed; paperwork to send out to potential sponsors and bands are almost finished and lineoutrecords has managed to blag us free professional CD production from the very nice man in Kid Galahad. |
